Good Morning Revival by Good Charlotte is such a great fucking album!

Lionel Richie and Joel Madden did a duet of the Commodores song ‘Easy’. It’s like my whole life has been leading to seeing this. I’ve loved Good Charlotte since I was a little pop-punk obsessed kid, Lionel Richie’s one of my favourite musicians and Easy is one of my favourite songs to see him sing. I’m happy.

Good Charlotte’s self titled album was made to be played in heatwave weather.

Since the weather went batshit insane with heat, everyone’s been saying they’ve got the perfect music to listen to in the great weather. Obviously, they’re all wrong, because the perfect Summer song is Waldorf Worldwide.

GOOD CHARLOTTE | THE ANTHEM

This will always be one of the best albums ever.

First week I got this album, I listened to it completely on my CD player everyday at least once for about a month. So good.

I Don’t Wanna Be In Love - Good Charlotte

“Don’t tell her she is the reason that you live
Don’t give her everything that you got to give
If you want to keep the girl for as long as you live
Just break it apart, her heart”

I was hugely disappointed with Cardiology at first, but it’s grown on me so much recently.

“Life was simple, Roger was working round the clock to make a living, no computers, none of that, he used his two hands. Ignored the cold war, his wife would keep him warm. On the weekends, he’d load the car up with the kids and they’d go fishing. No need to work an extra job, there’s no recession. Damn right he smiled a lot, they lay awake at night so in love!

It was a good good year, the kids were all right, ”Highway to Hell” beat up “Stayin’ Alive”, “The Clash” was on the radio and mom and dad were still in love, In 1979, It was a good, good year”

I was pretty devastated when Cardiology came out, because I thought Good Charlotte were going to go in a more Punk direction (The Madden brothers implied this in all the interviews I read after Good Morning Revival) and they went in a more Pop direction. Despite my initial disappointment, I really think lyrically it’s such a great album and the catchy-pop thing has really grown on me. The songs are also loads better live. Good Charlotte are amazing live.
