The last chorus of ‘Losing Days’ by Frank Turner is kind of like a punk frolicking in a field of flowers, because it’s angsty as heck but it’s so beautiful. That’s actually a decent summary of Frank Turner’s career, if I do say so myself.
‘I’m of the age where I want things to change but with age my hopes have faded’
Guardian readers do not like Frank Turner because of things he’s said in the past, and he seems to have exacerbated the situation by trying to set things right with them today. Their comments section seems to have turned into a kind of homage to the Daily Mail comments section, it’s that angry.
I wouldn’t want to think I’m wrongly defending someone’s personal life because I like their music, but it seems so arbitrary to attack him for his political beliefs, particularly when they’re mostly absent from his music, other than very old songs he says he regrets writing in the actual interview. Most of the political debate that plagues him is him defending statements from the past. It all seems like a ridiculously pointless burden on his music.
Listening to Frank Turner while he puts each song into context between tracks is the only way to listen to Frank Turner
Frank looks like a drunk rock star in the record store day video (x)
I went to see Frank Turner for the 8th time last night and
- Got drunk with friends beforehand and missed all the supports, but had a great day overall because of it
- He played The Way I Tend To Be which made me really happy because I freakin’ love that song
- I think I was dressed wrong, because he did an anti-Motley Crue speech and I was wearing my Motley Crue denim jacket. Screw you, Frank!
- He played Worse Things Happen at Sea which is probably my favourite Frank Turner song to see live. The guy next to me had only just started listening to him, and after WTH@S he turned around and was all “oh my god…” and I was all “Right?! RIGHT?!”
- I loved the setlist until the post-gig hype was fading and I realised that Polaroid Picture was an obviously unforgivable omission, oh well!
- I went to the after party, which was a bad decision. They had 14 different types of lager and nothing else, which is no use to a cider drinker. There weren’t many people there either. I left after one reluctant pint of Frank’s Believe Beer.
- Gave a drug dealer a cigarette to leave me alone on the way home. He was very confrontational and had little respect for my personal space for someone that allegedly wanted to provide me with hallucinogenics.
- I’d give the whole night a rating of a polysyllabic ‘saaaweeeeeeet’

And I’ll pay for my sins when I get paid,
I’ll stop talking to girls when I get laid,
I should’ve gone home when I could but I stayed,
But then I never was the clever one.
‘cause we won’t all be here this time next year, so while you can take a picture of us
Listening to the new Frank Turner album and he just said “fuck you Motley Crue”.
Woah there, let’s not speak too quickly and say something we can’t take back once our album’s leaked.
Downloaded the new Frank Turner album and I’ve got that “I’m so happy I feel like vomiting” feeling.
